Policy and procedures
We aim to have examples of policies, procedures - also Service (Level) Agreements and Protocols, to help share the experience and methods of SCB network members.

Many policies, procedures, protocols and SLA's have been written and established in practice, at all levels - in the Department of Health, Statutory or Voluntary sectors, and volunteer-led groups:

to clarify an organisation's position on an issue, e.g. Confidentiality or Health & Safety

to standardise who does a task, how, when and to what standards - especially useful with agencies sharing different roles in a person's care and support.
It makes sense that we share such documents and practices, to save time and effort, and fill gaps.

We attempt to have some good examples here, relevant to (carers in) mental health, e.g.:

  • Carers Assessment
  • Carer Consultation
  • Carer Involvement
  • Confidentiality
  • Data Protection
  • Equal Opportunities
  • Discipline
  • Exclusion
  • Health and Safety
  • Home Visits
  • Payments to carers
  • Respite Breaks
  • Service Provision

For examples of any of these (and others), see Service Developments and Publications
