The Health and Social Care systems are complex, and can vary between locations.
As a result it can be difficult to navigate them well (as a new carer, cared-for person, or worker), and therefore difficult to get the best results from them.
Getting to know local and national systems can be made easier with the use of e.g:
Local Carer / Family Support Workers - see Services List
Local expertise - experienced users and carers, perhaps in a local group, at a local Carers Centre, or on a help-line - see Services List
A local services guide - for 'service users', and for carers.
A local mental health (carers) strategy - to show the local situation
National information and guidance - often in the form of leaflets available locally - see Publications
